Thanks for joining us on the Bradwell Cruising Club website.

Our situation in Essex-provides excellent access to all that the East Coast has to offer. There are the delights of the Essex and Suffolk rivers, the historic Thames and it's busy estuary and for the more adventurous Holland, Belgium and France are all within easy reach. The area has a proud history of training and encouraging new sailors, from the Walton Backwaters where the Swallows and Amazons messed around in their boats to HMS Ganges where more grown up sailors learnt their skills.

Our unique little club hosts events that we run throughout the year; ranging from shore based festivities to long distance passages. What ever your vessel, route or distance, we’ve got something for everyone.

Important Update

It is with a feeling of disappointment, but also complete support of the situation the country faces with the Covid-19 corona virus, that we have cancelled all BCC events until further notice.

We will of course restart our planned activities as soon as the situation allows and will send out the usual correspondence as soon as we are able to re-start our events.

We wish you all the best possible health during this time and look forward to being able to meet up again later in the season.

Keep Well Keep Safe

We Want You!

Were looking for you to join our group of club representatives - Think its too much like hard work? Absolutely not!! BCC pride themselves in having a year plan drafted before the season. All you’ll need to do is host 1 or 2 events a year and join in as much as you can. There's no pressure or expectation. Just be part of the great team of people who can bring ideas to the table about our future events and celebrations.

We have 2 committee member positions available starting this November. We thank Keith and Jackie for their continued help and support during their time on the committee.

Nomination forms will be sent round with the AGM details soon - if you want to get in touch and discuss the positions please contact Rebecca, Shane or Kev for more details, or go ahead and nominate yourself or a willing friend in the club.

We look forward to hearing from you!!

30th Anniversary

It's our BIG Birthday this year and we're looking forward to lots of enjoyable events throughout the season.

We will be hosting our 30th Anniversary Black Tie Ball on 30th November at The Chichester Hotel, Wickford.

Tickets are only £45 which includes, drinks on arrival, 3 course meal, Live entertainment and Live band and hopefully a few other tricks up our sleeves!

Join us for the biggest event of the year to celebrate! Book in via the members page and secure your tickets now!

Teasing Summer !

Currently the weather is playing cat and mouse, raining cats and dogs, whilst we all keep checking the forecast ! If we don't like what we see then flick over to another provider to see if and when it will improve. There is a hot weather warning, but difficult to imagine when it's drizzling with the wet stuff.

The next events are being booked / planned and scheduled which is great, but please to aid the organisers, book in on this site, as it gives us boat data and info that we pass on the the relevant harbour masters. This makes booking your berth easier, and in turn gives you better info when entering.

Enjoy the summer, and sail safe.

June BBQ in Bradwell

Are you a current, new or prospective member?

We're hosting a BBQ at the Marina Bar in Bradwell to welcome and invite members.

If you have recently joined, please log into the members area for booking onto this event.

If you would like to join us and see what BCC is all about, please contact Kev Remmington via our 'Contact Us' page.

Hope to see you all there!

Whats App - Whats That?

Dear Members,

We are going to start using 'whats app'  to create a group chat prior to events.

Each organiser will create the group from the contact details provided at membership renewal.

The group will be to discuss arrangements and send event pictures to help build our newsletter and web features.

The organisers will be the 'administrator' and can close the groups after the event. There is also a feature to 'mute' notifications if you do not wish to be disturbed or even leave the event group chat if you no longer wish to be party to the chat.

This is a fun way to share our experiences and to enhance communication for events.

Don't worry if you are not tech-savvy... Whats app is the same as text messaging but within a private group of members who have been invited to the group chat.

And don't worry if you can't join us on Whats app - we will continue to update via email, on the website and newsletter as normal!

Fab newsletter!

Well done Steph for a great newsletter, excellent job.  The online reading tool is good too, great idea.

Quiz Nite

With regret we are canceling the Quiz Night on the 9th March. Unfortunately we don't have sufficient numbers to make it viable.

Our quizzes have been popular in the past so we will try again at some time in the future.
